- I'm not done with you. - warned Jet harshly.

Then he took off after Sonic. Aiden quickly went after him too.
Aaura was about to follow them, when something grey and massive suddenly got in her way, pushing her back.

- Hey lil' birdie, - said Storm, menacingly - I can't let ya go until you give me that stone!

- Darn it, let me through! - yelled Aaura, trying to get past the albatross, without success.

- Not gonna happen. Now, be a nice lil' birdie... - Storm was moving to take her "stone"

- I said.... Let. Me. THROUGH!!

Storm was unable to react in time for what came for him. Aaura's body got surrounded by lightning, each word stressed fueling the electrical aura around her. Before the Rogue could get any further, Aaura channeled all this energy with her arm against Storm, and blasted him away. The albatross landed a few metres away, concious yet paralyzed. Aaura stood there for a couple of seconds, surprised of what she had just done, then took her board and took off before he could give her chase. She could hear Storm grunting, trying to deal with the paralysis. Now, it was just a matter of going in the right direction, as the path in front of her divided in two: one going up, and the other going down. Aaura took the second.

She was becoming more powerful, that was sure. But still, those powers only showed up whenever she lost control of herself. It wasn't the ideal thing, but it was something, at least. Still, controlling it would be a whole lot better than these sudden outbursts...

*---------*

- Does this factory have an end at all!?

After 25 minutes, Aaura was still going deeper into MeteorTech's premises, and had not found Aiden or the others. The hallway just kept going, dividing in many other rooms or hallways. Some were labelled (Assembly Lines, Storage Vaults, Security, etc.). One, the last, caught the sparrow's attention. The label read "Prison Cells".
Why a factory needed a prison was beyond Aaura's comprehension, although that didn't stop her from wandering inside.
There were about ten cells in the room. In the center, rests of possibly two robot guards dismantled, just as the ones she saw in the factory's main entrance. Aaura decided to take a closer look into one of the cells, which seemed to be where the robots stood guard when operational. All of the other cells were empty, but the sparrow couldn't tell if this one was too, since this particular cell's only entrance was a thick, large iron door, while the others were just simple barred cells.
Inside, there was little to nothing. A ragged mattress on a corner, and a bucket half-full of water and rests of bread beside it. Whovever was trapped here had only what little was necessary to survive. Looking more carefully, Aaura found a recorder laying on the mattress. It had just one file saved, the date being just a couple of hours ago.
" It might as well be useful, somehow..." thought Aaura, as he played the recording.
A rough, female voice came out of the recorder as Aaura sat on the floor, listening carefully...

===
--- can't this work when I need it!?

*---------*

- Don't you know it's rude to take other's things without asking?

The audio log had just finished when Aaura heard that same voice from the recording behind her. Her tone didn't mean threat, but still, the sparrow was pretty sure her presence was both unexpected and unwelcome.
Aaura didn't really expected to meet her, specially knowing what that girl was going to do. Still, she had the hope of getting to know her, should their paths crossed. But now, not only was Aaura just in front of her, but was also intruding in her 'home'. Not the best of meetings. As long as she explained herself, she could still do things good.

Aaura turned to face her. And all she could do was stand there, shocked.

There, was a female wolf, wearing a white tank top, a dark grey gauntlet on her right hand, a metal left shoulder guard and her left arm covered in bandages; steel blue trousers and boots; and an orange jacket tied by her waist. Mostly, all of her clothes were dirty or ragged. But that wasn't what left the sparrow speechless. It was her physical appearance. Only one look was needed to see how that wolf resembled her ex teammate. Her purple eyes, her expression... Even her hair was a reminiscence of Kneive...

- Now, - said the wolf while looking the sparrow carefully - tell me why I shouldn't be wiping the floor with your face right now...?

- I... Um... - babbled Aaura

- Did Eggman send you after me? - asked menacingly the wolf - Or was it that wolf, his little assistant?

- What!? I wasn't... - Aaura kept babbling, until she could only say - I'm lost...

- Likely story... - said the wolf, skeptical

- Wait... - Aaura remembered the recording. The voice in it, it's story, the wolf working with Eggman...

- You are... Seira, right?

- Wow, you know my name. Big deal... - was the wolf's, Seira, answer.

- Wait... - said Aaura, before Seira could continue - You said something about a wolf... Working with Eggman? Is him, by chance... - What was the best way of saying it without being awkward? - Does he look like you?

- Well, um... Yes... - answered Seira, a little disoriented by Aaura's question. Then, came back to her own line of questioning - You still haven't....

- I think I know him. And I've been looking for him, too...

- So? - asked Seira, raising an eyebrow

- Well...

- Look - said Seira, losing her patience - I don't have time for this. I have a prison to break out from.

- And how are you going to do that anyway, having those robots running around? - asked Aaura, curious

- I have this... Thing. - said Seira, and produced a stone, round object. It has some strange markings that glowed dimly in the dark room. - I found it inside the robot they brought in for me to analyze. Don't know what it is, but it is really useful when it comes to wreck things up...

Aaura looked at the stone, barely paying Seira any attention. She had recognized that stone, as it was the very same she found days ago in that scrapyard.

- Hey! That's mine! - said Aaura, alarmed

- What the hell do you mean!? This thing was inside a robot!

- And that robot took it from me! - argued the sparrow, to which the wolf just raised an eyebrow again, downplaying it. - Look, I really need it!

- For what? - asked Seira. In response, Aaura showed her the prototype bracelet she made - Wait... You're not saying you... Copied this stone? How!? I don't even know what it does exactly!

- It's not a copy - admitted Aaura - it is calibrated to the original stone's energy signature to relay it. That thing - explained the sparrow - has unlimited power, or so would it seem. My bracelet just uses that energy, though it cannot withstand extended use. I made a more primitive version, which was entirely subordinated to the original. This one, though - said Aaura, raising the bracelet - is capable of storing some of that power for later use, but still needs to be in the vicinity to fully function...

- Well, you certainly like creating complicated stuff... - said Seira once the sparrow was over.

- Says the one who made a big, mad robot army...

- I didn't...! Fair enough... - replied the wolf, catching the joke. Then returning to the conversation - Well, that clears out why you need this thing. But, why should I give it to you? You know, it could be really helpful for me...

That was a good point. Seira actually needed it more than her. Aaura would have to think of some other way.
What if...

- How are you going to get out of here? - asked Aaura - I mean, what are you gonna do once you get out? All the city is swarming with robots!

- Okay... - said Seira slowly - That I did not know. - Then, realizing where this was going - What are you proposing?

- I arrived here by plane with some friends. - explained the sparrow - We got separated, but we left the plane at the factory entrance. It's somewhat damaged, but still fast enough to take us out of here quickly.

- And it surely won't blow up to hell, right? - asked Seira sarcastically

- You can ride what's left of the Megalo Station's trains if you want... - said Aaura while calmly walking out of the room

She was already out of the prison room and about to head back the factory main floor, when Seira caught up with her.

- Alright... I'm in - said reluctantly - Just hope you know what you're doing...

*---------*

Aaura found that the way up, as well as the way down the premises, was awfully long. It was something that she hadn't taken notice of before, as she had now to walk all the way so as not leaving Seira behind. After all, Extreme Gears weren't made to be used by more than one person. This also lead to her realizing that it also lacked any security robots ( or any kind of security, actually ). When asked why, Seira would just shrug. According to what she had seen, the underground levels were the ones relying on heavier security measures, which mostly means robots in large numbers. But they had been gradually leaving their posts, until just a few were left.

- And what happened to those that were left? - asked Aaura.

- The robot that was brought here. - said Seira. When seeing an enquiring look on the sparrow's face, she added - It was one of the latest prototype version. Actually, I don't quite know what was this one doing out there, since it was posted on the Crimson Tower...

- Crimson Tower? - asked Aaura. The name ringed a bell, but she couldn't place where she heard it before.

- It is MeteorTech's central base. - explained Seira - Mostly run by robots, though I suspect Eggman can oversee every robot's operations, as well as other premises around the world...

- Wait... - interrupted Aaura, alarmed - Are you saying that Dr. Eggman runs MeteorTech!?

Seira simply nodded and looked at her as if this was common knowledge.

Finally, they reached the main floor. Storm was no longer there, though Aaura didn't expect him to remain in one place. Most probably, he was as lost as herself a while back. She the looked at the other hallway, that leaded to the upper levels, and to her friends.
She had already promised Seira a safe way out of there. There was no way the wolf would stay more than needed. And she was going to leave Aiden... stranded, without a ship. Although, he could go with Sonic in the Tornado, right?

- Something wrong? - asked Seira, forcing Aaura out of her thoughts.

- It's nothing - replied, without looking away from the hallway. Then, more reassuring - C'mon, let's go.

She then continued towards the exit, Seira following. Once outside, Aaura rushed to the Light Pegasus. The right engine, still smoking a little, was mostly scorched due to the robots ambush. Apart from that, it was as good as new. The skies looked clear, but surely not for long, so they had to get out before robots came back. Taking a closer look to the scorched engine, Aaura assessed the damage it received. Sadly, repairing it was beyond her skills. Even though she had been in charge of maintaining it, she always had problems.understanding the ship's. Quite awkward, since she was the Team's mechanic....

- I know it looks bad, but it can still fly - assured the sparrow. There was no answer. -
Seira...?

Aaura turned, looking for her new companion, and was surprised to found her standing in the shadow of the factory entrance, with a lost stare in her eyes. Aaura went to see what happened.

- What's wrong? - she asked.

- It's been more than 4 years... - muttered Seira in response. - I've never been... out since then...

She would only stand there, afraid of stepping outside. All confidence she had seemed to have vanished. Aaura could tell from the wolf's angered expression that she found it aawkwardly difficult to overcome that fear, and that it also made her feel awfully stupid.

- Hey... - said Aaura softly, extending a hand - C'mon, it'll be alright.

Seira looked at the navy blue sparrow for a second, as if wondering where did this sudden kindness come from. Then, she took Aaura's hand.

- I.... Thanks - said Seira, and stepped forward.

- I did promise to take you out of here, didn't I? - said Aaura, smiling

Seira returned the smile, and headed to the Light Pegasus. She gasped when she saw the broken engine. Before Aaura could explain what had happened, the wolf rushed to it... And started repairing it. She had taken out of her jacket's pockets a wrench and some little spare parts, electronics mostly. When she ran out of them, she would go to one of the robots rests that were lying around and loot what she needed off them. Meanwhile, Aaura just stood there, jaw dropped, as Seira fixed the engine in no more than twenty minutes.

- Try it - said Seira, once she had finished.

The sparrow jumped into the cockpit and started the engines, expectantly. And, surprisingly, both engines fired up. The Light Pegasus was fully operational once again!
Seira joined Aaura in the cockpit, taking the backseat.

- How did you do it? - asked the sparrow, amazed

- I'm not quite sure. - said Seira, shrugging - Its design seemed... Familiar, somehow. Besides that, - continued - having so scarce resources down there, I had to learn how to convert scrap metal and electronics into more complex parts.

- You magnificent bastard....- muttered Aaura, while preparing for taking off.

The Light Pegasus took off, flying away from the MeteorTech factory. No turning back now.

- Where to, then? - asked Aaura

- I believe that we should find out what is happening with the robots... - replied Seira vaguely.

- You mean to tell me that...

- Yes. We're going to Crimson Tower.

Final Comments
Seira.... You sexy bastard...
Okay... I think I just fell in love with my OC.
I created her, so it wouldn't be wrong.... would it? :D

uhm...

Back to topic!
YESH, I FINISHED THIS SHIT.... YAY!!!
(It's late, deal with me)
I'm sorry if someone finds it.... unsettling, if I didn't include the full recording (A.K.A. backstory) left by Seira. but it would've made this chapter unnecesarilly long... Besides, I uploaded it separately. So deal with it. ;)

EDIT : .Hiperlinked the beginning of Seira's recording to the actual backstory, containing the full recording
Can't believe I never thought of it in the first place...
